A brand new festive family hub created right in the heart of Adelaide, launched for the Adelaide Christmas holidays since 2017.

Free to enter and open daily from 15 – 24 December, Christmas Lights, Festive Nights saw Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga transformed into a playful wonderland bursting with colour, candy canes, lights, music, food trucks and a sleigh-load of merry-making activities to put smiles on faces young and old.

Along with amusement rides and daily games, a spectacular feature was our striking red, green and white wooden Rastelli Tent which hosted short, family-friendly performances by jugglers, acrobats, comedians and magicians.

WHAT WE DID

Working within a budget and brief provided by City of Adelaide to fill the Northern side of Victoria Square in the lead up to Christmas. Bamboozled Productions put together the creative brief and programmed the Rastelli venue with daily 15 minute family friendly performances, a roving programme using some of the finest companies in Australia and a considered music schedule drawing on Adelaide’s UNESCO City of Music status. Bamboozled also engaged Nonsense Inc., an Adelaide based company that creates spellbinding creative workshops for kids.

Working with the awesome team at Bamboozled on the delivery of Christmas Fun in (Victoria) Square was an enjoyable and rewarding experience. The extensive and diverse experience and level of expertise of the team at Bamboozled allow for a truly unique event offering, delivered with professionalism, contagious energy and creative integrity. Bamboozled are also the owners of Adelaide’s best looking performance pop-up venues! Victoria Square never looked so good as when it was lucky enough to host the beautifully bright Rastelli tent as well as a custom made, gingerbread house marquee. Bamboozled will go above and beyond to ensure their audiences are having as much fun as they are!

Drawing on his Wangkangurru Adnyamathanha, Cook Island and Maori heritage, Dre creates interactive DJ sets under his MC moniker MoZzi. His show MoZzi x Inkatja sold at the 2021 Adelaide Fringeand he has been a frequent contributor to the Art Gallery of South Australia’s Neo program as well as the annual Wilpena Pound New Year’s event. He was featured on Triple J as part of the 2021 NAIDOC Mix UP line-up.
